Engine Overhaul Facility

Our engine shop has been shipping out fully overhauled engines and components since 1964.  Part 145 CAA approved overhaul facility in Categories C1(piston engine powerplants overhaul and maintenance) , C2 (mechanical components overhaul and maintenance) and C3 (electrical equipment components overhaul and maintenance). Specializing in Lycoming, Continental, Gipsy, Rotax, Jacobs engines and components.

Southair’s preference is to overhaul to factory remanufactured standard – as new tolerances throughout. A comprehensive warranty comes with the overhaul.

We can give you a basic estimate for your engine overhaul or bulk strip prior to disassembly, based on the engines history,and will submit a more accurate quote once it has been stripped down, inspected and established with the customer which components are to be replace and repaired.

A Southair engine overhaul usually includes a full crankcase overhaul, new cylinder kits, a new camshaft and tappet set, new ignition harness and all mandatory replacement parts.

Magnetos, starter motors, alternators and fuel control systems are either replaced or overhauled to factory specifications.

All our overhauled engines are tested after rebuild in our purpose built test truck.
